Asking-price multiple calculator for selling a startup
The multiple is the asking price divided by a year of the business’s money. On a Ventmark sale listing it is asking price ÷ (30-day collections × 12). For context, Acquire.com reports a median of 3.9x annual profit for SaaS sales in 2024 and 2025, and calls 3x to 5x profit or 1x to 3x revenue “a qualified range, not a guarantee”. This is not a valuation.

The multiple a buyer would see
Collections multipleasking price ÷ (30-day collections × 12)
2.0x
Acquire.com’s qualified range for SaaS is 1x to 3x annual revenue; this is within it. Twelve times 30-day collections isn't ARR: it includes one-time purchases and customers' taxes, so compare loosely.
- Add annual profit to see a profit multiple (the measure Acquire.com's median uses).
Ventmark is not a broker or adviser, and this is not a valuation. Benchmarks are other marketplaces’ published figures, not Ventmark data.
Published benchmarks
Figures from marketplaces that publish them, checked 20 October 2026. Each counts different deals in a different way, so treat them as context, not a target.
| Source | Figure | What it measures |
|---|---|---|
| Acquire.com Multiples Report 2025 | 3.9x (2025, 129 deals); 3.9x (2024, 205); 4.3x (2023, 145) | Median net income (profit) multiple for SaaS sales. |
| Acquire.com Multiples Report 2025 | 3.7x under $100k; 3.9x $100k to $1M | 2025 profit multiple by trailing-12-month revenue (136 deals reporting). The report gives no median revenue multiple, only a scatter plot. |
| Acquire.com, SaaS valuation multiples in 2026 | 3x to 5x profit; 1x to 3x revenue | “A qualified range, not a guarantee”, of annual profit or annual revenue. |
| Flippa, 2025 M&A insights | 2.7x average (5.8x top quartile) | SaaS. The page doesn't say whether this is a profit or revenue multiple, and labels the 5.8x figure inconsistently. |
What 30-day collections are, and aren't
Ventmark shows a sale listing’s multiple from 30-day collections: every payment received in the last 30 days, from payment data the founder has connected and shared. That includes one-time purchases and the taxes customers paid, so twelve times it is not ARR, and it is never profit.
A multiple on collections and a multiple on MRR or profit measure different things; compare like with like. TrustMRR defines its multiple the same way Ventmark does (asking price ÷ last 30 days revenue × 12). The asking-price multiple guide has worked examples.
Not a valuation
Ventmark is not a broker or adviser, and this is not a valuation. It divides the numbers you enter and sets the result beside other marketplaces’ published figures. Ventmark’s own range from real listings will appear here once there are enough real sale listings.
Listing your startup for sale
A sale card on your Ventmark listing shows your asking price and, if you share verified payment data, the multiple buyers see. The sale card is part of Premium; see pricing. Browse startups for sale to see how other founders present theirs.
